Well I picked up an 06 for my son it runs like a top once you get it going but it doesn't like to idle. I haven't worked on a 2 stroke for close to 10 years. I messed with the fuel/air screw but it didn't help, any suggestions? The guy I traded it from said it had a "big pipe" on it it appears to be stock(looks like the rest of them anyhow) Does anyone know if he could have put a pipe from a 50 sx pro on it or how to tell?

Any common problems or suggested modifications?

Thanks!:ride:

My experience with the fast 50's has been throw out half of everything you have learned about diagnosing problems with most bikes. Many hours bent over the little pumpkin in my garage, while my wife protected the delicate ears of my boys. Alot of the issues were either the stator, CDI or the first place to look, the clutch. The 3 shoe clutch can create many issues that appear to be something else, i.e. dirty carb. Somewhere on the web, you can find the KTM Bible that I found to be invaluable when dealing with these little monsters.

I have the same bike, we got it practically brand new and it ran fine just a little bog off the bottom which is common. Go to ktm talk, I got some diff. jets and some tiny spacer washers for the clutch springs. Made a huge diff. We also added the big pipe and foot brake. I did not change anything with the larger expansion chamber.
