Soooooo, after 4 months of recovery time from my broken femur and torn LCL, MCL and meniscus (all repaired back in July, the day after the crash).... it's time to get my ACL replaced tomorrow  I'm actually looking forward to it since it's forward progress in my overall recovery.

I'm going for the patella tendon repair and will post weekly updates on my recovery for those interested....you may want the info for future injuries :bonk:

I'll also be having mine reconstructed here in a few hours.. bout to leave in a few its a 2 1/2 hour drive and I'm the first surgery of the day. I'm having Dr. Lawless in Dayton do the contralateral patella graft.. He also trained in the OR with shelbourne.. Wish I had the money to fly down to TX though, would have been sweet!!

Nicely done! Any doctor who is a disciple of Dr. Don Shleborne's techniques is a smart competent doctor. I returned to playing sports and racing exactly 3 months and 2 weeks after opposite leg, bone & patella acl reconstruction. Good luck to both of you and keep us posted.

Well, I'm one of those high tolerance pain people and the pain hasn't been bad at all. I'd say a 6 (out of 10) at the worst and that is localized over where they did the patella tendon graft. I'm not taking the Percocet or Norco for pain at all.

They gave me an cooler wrap/machine to bring home that runs off rubbing alcohol. It works great and is much easier than the ones that run off ice that constantly needs to be replenished. The CPM leg machine they gave me on friday (best invention ever by the way) isn't working right so they are bringing a new one today.

Movement wise I'm up to about 80 degrees already (started this time around at 130 after my preveious surgery).

Good to see your doing good too. As of last night I was 0-120 degrees on the ACL side and 0-115 on the donor knee.. I'm not sure why the donor side is so tight, I keep trying to push it further when I do my exercises q 2 hours but it just isn't coming easily. I'm taking darvon every 6 hours for the pain, I'd rather have it in me then not and be in pain and have to wait for it to kick in. How does it feel for you walking?

No bueno for me walking. Keep in ming though that I wasn't walking normal from my previous surgery (broken femur, torn meniscus (both) and LCL). I had just got off teh crutches maybe 10 days before. I was told upfront that my recovery wouldn't be "normal' because of my other injuries. At this point, I can't even think about walking w/o crutches at this point.
