CB250RS - how to run without alternator?

I have a CB250RS that I use for sand racing. It currently is 'kick and go' - no charging system or battery, just the two 'power' wires from the alternator directly to the CDI. Originally there were 3 yellow, one blue and one white wire coming from the alternator. The three yellow go to the charging system and so were binned.

I would like to run the motor without the alternator/flywheel - connecting a battery directly to the CDI. What I don't know is what is the difference between the blue and the white wire from the alternator. Would I conect both directly from a 12v battery to the CDI? I do have the manual but it is not clear why there are two wires from the alternator to the CDI. Is there any difference, is it two 12v power wires, or is the voltage produced from the alternator too great for it to be run by a 12v battery?

I know people have run this system with SLR650, XL500, XL250 but will it work on the RS motor/CDI? Any ideas would be much appreciated!

That bike already has a DC cdi from the way you explained the wiring. Three-Phase ac charging system is the 3 wires. The blue & white wires, though, are the big deal. They are from the puslegenerator., and it has to be there. So does the flywheel to make the pulse. The CDI does and will work with just the battery, but the pulser tells it when to fire based on crankposition, so you're out of luck for eliminating the flywheel.

Unless your best buddy is a precision machinest then have him whip you up a lightweight disc of some sort to imitate the flywheel triggerpoint and ther ya go. Cheers!

Sorry, I should have said - the pulse generator is on the right hand side of the motor and the wires are still present and correct to the CDI. The alternator is on the left hand side of the motor and that is what I would like to get rid of.

Thanks for the reply though :)
