Trying to find where to buy these bearing at without paying $40 for Pivot Works to put them in a fancy little package. They are just NSK 6906DU2's..my local NSK dealer says he can't get them. Is this a OEM deal only.

Kind of sucks, I know these bearings can sell for $8 but I"ll have to pay 5 times that :(

Any bearing supply should be able to cross them to another brand including your NSK dealer. Worst case he should be able to measure it if has some special NSK number.

You can match them up at a local auto parts store but you may have trouble with the seals. Carquest was a little more than Pivot Works. Check Ebay for deals or the new Motosport site. I think I paid $20 for wheel bearings & seals there. Bargain-something or other. I found linkage bearings on Ebay for less than half of the Pivot Works....oh, and they've been in the bike for a while now without issue.

I've been getting all of my bearings from VXB bearings for the last couple years, seem to be very good for the price. Here is the bearing you want from them for $9.95 each: http://www.vxb.com/p...gs/PROD/Kit7193

The pivot works kit isn't too bad though, $34.95 for two bearings, two seals, and a bushing.

Have you tried looking for a 6906-2RS instead? I don't know what the DU2 designator means on your bearing but it is probably the same as a 2RS which means the bearing has seals on both sides.

Parts Unlimited sells Moose brand wheel bearing kits that are much less expensive than the Pivot Works kits. MSR and All Balls also sell the cheap kits if your dealer uses Tucker Rocky.

He did try a cross and nothing was coming up. Guess I'll try something else.

Moose, MSR and All Balls are all the same bearings (All Balls)
They're alot cheaper than Pivot Works and better bearings IMO.
I've had Pivot Works rear wheel beaings go in 4 months on me before.

NSK 6906DU
Is a single row deep groove ball bearing with a contact type rubber seal on one side.
9mm wide
30mm inner Dia (bore)
47mm outer Dia
Basic Load rating 1630 lbs (Dynamic)
No idea what the “2” at the end is, as, NSK does not use just numbers for Auxiliary symbols as far as I can tell.

If the bearing was a 6906DDU then it would be a contact type rubber seal on both sides.

On a NSK ball bearing, seals on both side would be a DDU. Seal on one side is DU

These are sealed on both sides, maybe that's what the "2" is for?

Could be, but a "2" is not listed an any of the NSK catalogs as used for that propose . No stand alone numbers used as a suffix symbol.

Double seal on that bearing would be a DDU. No matter, you got what you needed.

You have GOT to be kidding. All Balls better than OEM, such as NSK and Koyo?!

As they say on ESPN, "COME ON, MAN!" :)
