Between saturday and sunday I:

1. Fell numerious times in corners like it was my job
2. Had a gnarly crash attempting a 70' table for the first time...
3. Dropped my bike while getting it off the stand: curled up F brake lever
4. tasted some more samples of dirt
5. MASTERED that 70' table wooo
6. My last jump on the table, I landed and accidently ran over a ~40y/o man that had crashed :(
7. and last but not least locked the keys in my effing truck.

Not a weekend I will soon forget...

Too bad least your not in the hospital or your bike does not require anything (unless you hate bent levers)

I think everyone that rides has a day or days like that....BUT...you are walking and not broken so in my book, that counts for something.

Yep, the eternal optimist here.

It's not a bad race when you don't have to stop for x-rays on the way home!

And the key thing... I put my keys on the ground in front of the tire because I ALWAYS lock the doors when I close them out of habit, which doesn't turn out well when keys are in my jeans pocket inside.

Jeez man, and I thought my ride was bad. One fall with trip to ER which I drove to after dropping off the bike at the house. I'm feeling pretty blessed now. :worthy:

Glad to hear you're ok and, hopefully, the 40 y/o is too or will be.

Oh no! Is your brand new bike OK?!?! Or on a more serious note, are you OK?

Like everyone has said, it could have been worse... You could have gotten run over by the 40 yr. old instead of you running over him.

LOL, if that was considered a bad weekend, wait until you have kids racing.

I had one weekend in 2008 when anything that could go wrong went really wrong. I have three kids racing and i was so busy working on broken/bent bikes, my wife was actually hand feeding me so I did not have to wash up to eat, I just kept working on bikes while she shoved a sandwich in my face.

That is the weekend that I began to really understand preventative maint. This will not fix the crashes, but will save time wrenching for stupid stuff at the track. I spent the better part of two weeks until the next race going over the bikes after work to make sure that did not happen again. So far so good.

As for the key thing, always keep a spare located outside of the truck/car. Another lesson I learned the hard way.

Time for a keyless keypad entry installation. We got one installed on our used truck when we got it. Throw the keys in and lock it up

No offense, but you're whining about some trivial things here, meanwhile the other guy is in a wheelchair for a long time if it's anything like when my buddy broke his pelvis.

and where there the flaggers ? why would you hit someone if they had a flagger telling you someone was down on the other side of the jump or were there no flaggers

No flaggers, it was a practice/club ride day and i was just going in circles jumping that tabletop, everytime i went around the corner I would look to see if it was clear but I must have not looked good enough. Its a blind jump.

To be exact its the finish line table at budds creek.

Just some scratches so, hopefully, she'll be ok. :smirk: But seriously, they said nothing is broken but I really question that with the level of pain I'm having. Oh well, I'll get back on that horse as soon as I can.

Wow, that is some serious stuff there. My buddy had to be life flighted (internal bleeding) from one hospital to a trauma hospital. He very nearly died from his broken pelvis.

Don't beat yourself up over it man. It's a dangerous sport and stuff happens. If the tracks would worry more about safety (have flaggers on practice days) and less about $$ those things would happen much less frequently.

Be a man about it though and go see the guy, give him your best wishes, etc.
