Hi I`ve just bought a set of talon wheels front 21x1.60 and rear 18x2.15 they are to go on my CRF 250r I race Hare and Hound scrambles (any tire allowed) which usually have a mix of woods and fast open going.
I used to have a 19 inch rear wheel and used Michelin starcross MS3 which worked great. The problem I have is finding a similar tire in 18 " can anyone help?
PS The bike is only used off road so I don`t want a compromised road legal tire.
Thanks

Try the S-12 rear tire(tyre:lol:).I like the 18" wheel personally for all around use.

Thanks, but is that still a road legal tire?
Where I ride its really wet deep rutted clay and sandy mud with lots of wet grass thrown in, I just worry about the tire clogging up compared to the mx tires.

s12 front and rear is a fantastic mud tire. It'll wear out on hardpack or pavement quickly though. Kenda Millville is a very good tire as well, and costs much less. Neither are DOT approved.

The S-12 was made for your sort of conditions. The Kenda(Millville or Washougal) is also a great tire. The "S" in S-12 stands for soft. But I agree that they will get wasted for long term street use.The tire has a very open compound for muddy conditions. And no it is not street legal.
