So a few weeks ago I went riding on my DRZ125L up in VT. We were just getting ready to leave on a ride until I had my typical jetting issue, the jets get blocked up and it dies in the upper RPM's. So we did a quick repair and do to a lack of tools, we took the carb out and blew the jets out with a compressor. I wasn't there when the carb was taken out but the float pin fell out when carrying the carb into the kitchen. So with a missing float pin, we had to fabricate a part on the spot by taking a finish nail and cutting it down to size. It worked perfectly. So we blow the jets out, put it back on the bike and I go test it. Everything is fine and I'm all psyched to go on a ride. Then I'm flagged down by my friend and he says we forgot to put a part in. So I go in and look at what we forgot to put in, it was the plastic holder piece that goes kinda just sits there. We didn't bother to put it back in and the bike seemed fine anyway.

So it's been weeks and I still haven't put the holder back in and replace the fabricated part we made and I'm wondering if by running my bike without this holder part, I could be harming my bike.

I'm also wondering why my jets get blocked up with junk so often. It's quite annoying. I have cleaned out the tank. I did hear that if you add a little 2 stroke oil to the gas it will help clean out your carb. Is that true?

Thanks!

slosh baffle.

it keeps the fuel stable around the main jet under high vibration or high G situations.

you should put it back in,but its not the end of world if you dont.
