I own a home in Snohomish Co. but due to work have been living in Olympia for the past year. Boy have I been outta the loop! I was excited about moving home this month and then I found out last night that Reiter is closed? Then tonight I hear that Walker is closed too! This is my worst nightmare,i'll have to drive 2hrs to go trailriding,***?
I've written a few letters when alerted by CLOUT but for sure I could have done more, as I am sure we all could. Why are we buying tabs? Is this for the priveledge of having our bikes sit in our garages or to supplement the gas tax revenue we will generate driving for hours to ride on public land? I don't think I will be renewing my tabs until something changes.Hell ,Canada is probably my closest option for trail riding now!
Maybe other people are thinking the same way I am, and maybe, though it is probably a longshot,Olympia will notice the loss in revenue. At the very least my/our tab money won't go to fund a pedestrian bridge somewhere or better yet a piece of public art!!

I feel the same about WA ORV tabs. Not just because one area is closed but because the state is stealing my money! Throw in multiple ORV facilities being closed and the pending doom of more ORV trails closing and I have no desire to buy more ORV tabs. I have already paid the SALES TAX on my bikes so the state has nothing to complain about, I will be buying OR ORV tags only. OR ORV tabs are around 12 bucks and good for two years.

Make an impact and drive to Oregon and explore some new ORV areas. That will hit home on multiple levels. I am no longer making my annual trips to Tahuya and Capitol Forest ETC so local business is missing out.

GREAT JOB WA STATE! Keep pushing money out of the state and stealing from hard working life long WA residents.

I buy my bikes in Oregon and dont register them when I bring them back to Wa. I find ways to cheat the stupid tabs. This state cant keep its hands out of the cookie jar. I am done paying for tabs that the money goes to something other than maintaining the riding area's we have/had.

I have and will continue to buy tabs, I ride with my kids and I am not going to put them in a situation where a LEO is stopping them/us and handing out tickets. :banghead:

I do not like it, however until we go to court and see how things shake out I will have current tabs on all of my bikes (5)

All you need is the VIN #. A Title is not needed in OR. Close to Portland: TSF, McCubbins Gulch, EFR, Mt Hood to name a few. I've been very busy with the OMRA Cross Country series this year going to new places all over Oregon. I have not missed riding in WA this year. The only down side is I did not get any GP riding in this year.

I believe you can go to Portland and buy ORV tabs, which are good for you riding off road in Oregon. They are not good for you in Washington.

Oregon tabs are good for Washington.. if you have an oregon drivers license. DNR enforcement will ask you to leave their areas if not and i don't know what foresters or sheriff will do.

You can also be sent to jail for up to one year if you show Washington tabs and have a vehicle registered in another state.

Accept for:

No more tabs for Bikedude either... :naughty: The equestrians, mt bikers, hikers and do-gooders all get to use OUR trails for free.. Yes, they are OURS because we pay for them.. If they're all getting closed anyway, due to lacking funds, how will they enforce it?? Continue riding where ever ya want IMO...

Instead of closing these places, why cant they charge these other groups a yearly user fee?? Make up the money that way?

WA state WAS the most wonderful place to live and ride.. Now, its quickly becoming Cali-Mex-ington

Yep, you're exempt as long as you are on a nonhighway road open to ORV use or if the road is designated open per RWC 46.09.180.

Not exempt on the trail.

I was at Taenum this last summer and the ranger told us flat out dont worry about your tabs guys. Hell if I am buying them anytime soon. But honestly, how is any of this a surprise to anyone when we vote in far left radicals (who voice their hatred of ORV's every chance they get) into local office and let them get away with calling themselves "moderates"?
I already have one foot out of this state. The writing is on the wall, we are all going to have to buy spandex if you want to enjoy a two wheel sport soon.
