Hey guys,
I have an 01 RM 125 and I am missing a bolt.
It is one of the two that hold on the cover to the powervalve adjustment
I really need to pick one of these up on the way home today, but I forgot to bring the other with me for reference. Does anyone know off hand what size this bolt is and what length I need?
Thanks in advance
Tommy

ps
here's a quick pic of the bike

It would be really hard to tell the exact size since the diagram does not mention the size. The dealer will most likely not carry it as well. I know that is approximately 3/4 of an inch long. You could go to any hardware store or autoparts and pick up different sizes and match it when you get home. They don't cost much at hardware stores, and you could always return the ones that dont fit. Make sure to pick up bolts with different thread sizes. It could be shorter, but you have to make sure that you get the correct threads. It is very easy to strip the treads inside the cylinder. I found a shorter bolt, and it works fine. Not much torgue needed on those. I was riding with only one bolt holding it without any issues.

well thats kind of the problem..
I ran mine with just the one screw last weekend and noticed the powervalve had moved. I really don't want to put any more torque on the one I bolt I have in there now. I was going to a specialty place today to pick up a couple of aluminum nuts and was just gonna grab that bolt while I was there.
they have this PITA minimum cash purchase thing though, so I guess unless someone knows what size it is, I'll just wait till tomorrow.

You should be able to pick up a suitable bolt from any hardware store. Just take the other one and match it. It shouldn't be a big deal since you need to reset the tension anyway.

If I remember right on my RMX250 it is an M6x1 bolt, about 16mm or 20mm long, I guess it might be the same?? (Please check against old bolt before taking my word for it, I would hate to be responsible for a stripped thread!!)

Maybe buy both or 20mm long and cut down if required.

Try and get a hi-tensile one (10.9 or 12.9 stamped on head), it will be much stronger hopefully hold better than old one.
