Back tire to match?

I got a new front tire for my bike, which I love. I was wondering how much my handling would improve if I changed the back tire to match. My front is a mid-soft since I do most of my riding on the trails in the woods and my back tire is the stock Dunlop 756 tire.

How much would the ride improve if I changed the back tire and do I only need to match mid-soft to mid-soft or should I stick with the same brand front and back?

IMHO i could care less if they match. I pick my favorite front and rear and run them.

I don't think I have ever had a matching set of tires.

Mine always match to, they are round:lol: Couldn't resist. Tire brands do not have to match front to rear, They never have on my bikes, anyways

Thanks for the input. I know it sounded like a dumb question but it really had more to do with how much my rear traction would improve. I will just get the other rear tire and see for myself.

I like the 404. I just got a washougal sticky for the front, might try that in the rear next, but then again I also have a trials tire to sling on there.

There are quite a few threads about good tires for the NW on here, have fun reading
