As far as i know the 620 has Dellorto carb , fcr is a way better carb and you can find many parts easy and many set ups .

I think 1996-1999 RXC's in the USA had the Edelbrock Quicksilver carb. My old
1998 RXC 400 had one. I replaced it with an FCR because I couldn't get the Edelbrock to run right. With the edelbrock, the bike was hard starting, fouled many plugs, off idle stalls etc. I could go on and on. Once the FCR was installed, the bike ran like a top and ripped.

The KTM RXCe400/620's in '97 and '98 had e-start and the E'brock carbs on them. Before '97 they had the Del's on them. In '99 they went to the BST40 Mik. I've owned 4 lc4s, one 400, still have it, 2 620's and a 640, all sold. The 640 had the BST. I put BST's on all the rest. I was able to get the E-brock to run really well on one 620, reasonably well on the 400, and not worth a damn on the other 620. All of them had the comp vent upgrade and accel pump added. With these mods, the carb wasn't "bad". You can buy used BST40's off e-bay all day long for about $100.00 which is a good deal. I had to have cables made for them by Motion Pro but that wasn't a big deal. The FCR is a better performer but a used Mik is a bargain and solves most all of the E-Brock driveability problems.

Thanks, Good info. Was looking to buy a 98RXC620, noticed bike was a little hard starting and bike not so smooth...probably the Edlebrock carb. I have no issues with the BST. I remember folks on TT (maybe DB too)complaining about the 2003 SXC620 because of the BST versus the 2004 SXC with the FCR. I have rode both years and the bikes behaved very well.

As an FYI, my last RXCe620 had a BST on it and iwas dialed in REAL good. I probably shouldbn't have sold that bike. I'm sure an FCR would have produced a little more power, but for driveability and gas mileage, you cou;dn't beat the BST. it had nice crisp throttle response too.

I bought my 97 620RXC(3000 miles MINT!) NOT running with the edelbrock carb on it. Previous owner got fed up screwing with the carb ALL the time. I never even took the time to get her going with the edelbrock. I immediately put a 41mm FCR on it and it runs like a top. I let the previous owner take it for a spin and he said it was a whole different bike.
I also threw 17" rims on her and tarded it. By FAR the most fun on-road bike I've ever owned. Can't stop laughing out loud in my helmet.
