Eddie,  first off I plan on sending you my ecm sometime this winter.  My bike is new 0 hours as of today.    Reading about the 2010 crank failures,  alot of people are seeing a grey dust on top of the piston caused by lean detonation.   What is your opinion, will riching up the injector make my bike more reliable?

if the bike is 100% stock the fueling is not the reason for detonation.

hi eddie, i have a 2010 crf 250, i run on avgas and k and n filter with no backfire screen, i have noticed a lot more bottom end power with this, i am getting a yoshi pipe, you say it will make the bike go worse is that correct? if so, is it better to get the hrc tuning tool or the yoshi to match the tuning?

Curious about effects of altitude - I have a Stock 2010 CRF250R and ride/race at 6000 ft.
I'm going to blend the valve seats to intake and exhaust transitions next time I have the head off and will be switching to an FMF Q4 to keep the noise level down. So I expect it to breathe better, but have a bit more restrictive exhaust.

Any ideas?

Will a remap make my 2010 start better? My 2010 has 9 hrs on it and it doesn't want to start very well.

Hi Eddie,

Is there any gains in remapping a stock 2012?

What do I need for my 2010 crf250r, it just got rebuilt bottom up, new crank/bottom end, piston, and 170 big bore. My mechanic says it needs a grid/map?? It takes almost 80 kicks to get it going.. but when its going it runs ok...

I'm trying to find a thread on how to remove the ECM from a 2010 CRF250R.  I want to remove backfire screen and send ecm in for remap as soon as I figure out where the heck it is and how to get it out.  Sorry...noob.  The rest of the bike is stock and I don't see doing exhaust/header for a while yet.  Will the screen removal and remap do much for an otherwise stock setup?

Remove your seat, the strap and remove the top bolt of the ECM (allen head)
Disconnect the connector
Slide out the rubber case from the bracket

You can see how in this video

With my Yosh and backfire screen removed the difference is awesome, thank a lot Eddie

Thanks Darkcrf.  I wasnt sure where the ECU actually was.  Got it now!  I'll be sending it in for remap soon.

By the way, I replaced my stock 2010 CRF250R fuel filter yesterday in large part due your input on another thread I was reading.  I'm glad I did as it was getting harder and harder to start.  Fires right up now, and hopefully no injector damage.  Thanks again!

Hi Eddie,

I have a 2011 CRF250R with a new Akropovic Pipe. Do you know of anyone that works your magic in Australia? I dont want to lose my ride for the 10 + days send and return to the states. Other option is I have a 2010 bike also. Is it the same? Can I post you that then swap it for the 2011 when it arrives so I can keep riding?
Thanks Eddie great work
