If memory serves me correctly you have to press them from the inside of the swingarm out. finnicky little buggers too!

Indeed, pressed out from the other side; meaning, the left race gets pressed out from the right side of the link.

small length air saw and cut them out. just did all the bearings on my 125 that way. even if you cut a bit of the aluminum thats ok, it wont effect the new bearings.

Make sure there's not a snap-ring holding the race in place. Some models have them.

I did my 98 RMX250 swingarm an linkage brgs the other week, used the 1996-2000 RM250 fiche drawings as mine matched them not the RMX one. The main difference was needle roller bearing thrust washers. http://www.suzukipow...=1996&fveh=2001
The swingarm bearings are pressed out from either side, I used a hydraulic shop press to get them out but pressed the new ones in with a vice and sockets.
The main mistake I made was not spotting that some of the linkage bearings are held in by a circlip/split ring, make sure you clean it up properly so you can identify them before trying to press out, I didnt, I smashed the casting and had to bore it out and fit a sleeve :banghead:

I have pasted all the bearing and seal numbers from my notes below if you need them, purchasing from bearing shop is much cheaper than genuine or allballs. I did have to machine a couple of inner sleeves/bushes as some were excessively worn.
Good luck

Wow! That was the first time I ever heard of a c-clip for the swingarm bearings.!
Good call UA.

My older, more desirable model has them all over the place. I figured it would be easier to understand snap-ring than c-clip. They're easy to get out with a small pick: lift up one end and pull, they pop right out.

hey i know this post is abit late but i just finished doing my swing arm/linkage/lower shock bearings on my 98 rm250 and shit they were such a mission compared to my rm125 and rmx250. the swing arm bolt took me ages to get it to move even a couple of mm so in the end i smashed it with 2 cans of PB and 1 can of WD40 and for every movement one way i hit it back the other way untill it broke free (the swing arm bolt had seized to the steel washers/spacers that are on either side of the gbox where it goes threw though ive heard that its not a good idea to smash the bolt cause it can do damage inside the gbox? feel free to correct me if im wrong) but in the end i mushroomed the thread end so got a new bolt aswell as the 3 bearing kits costing nearly $380 nz dollars all together! the left hand side bearing race was mashed so bad into the alloy i ended up using a flat head screw driver and hammer to pry it out. biggest mish ive come across on my RM so far but shes still a mint bike for her age. i have also changed the front conventional forks to upside down 2001 kx250 forks and she handles waaaay better for my riding style and takes jumps alot more comforable. 2 stroke all day long
