I am building a KTM 525 for this years Baja 1000 and I was going to run the bib-mousses front and rear. I have mounted them before but had and extremely difficult time doing it. Anybody know of a video or some tips or tools that help. I am very proficent at changing tubed tires but these mousses were seriously not easy to mount. I have heard all types of different techniques but have not found any of them helpful. Please help me. Thanks.
Any Bib Mousse tube installation videos/tips?

This is'nt related but I've read that high speeds and long distances will turn bibmouses in to goo. I don't know myself would tire balls be a better choice for a 1000 mile race. Either way I envy you I would like to do one of those vacation rides down there.

Seeing that it was Mclovins 1st ever post he might not reply to this, but what the heck, i'll try...
- What model tires are you mounting the Mousses inside of?
- What's your plan for wheel changes during the race? Meaning... is your front going the entire way or switching it at 1/2 way point? And how about rear?
- How many spare rear wheels will you have around the course? (matters in case of Mousse failure) Like if you have a rear wheel at every pit, nice. But if you have 1 spare rear, not so nice.
The rears have been prone to failure in the past due to heat, torque, and speed .
If you set it up right you'll better your chances.
If your riders aren't really fast you'll better your chances.
The top speeds for this years course are not too high and the ambient temperatures shouldn't be high, both will better your chances.
As for Mousse mounting... easy -10 minute deal with decent technique.
Good thing it's semi-easy, we have 14 Mousses we need to mount for the Baja 1000 coming up! (i never said mounting them was fun)
Tire Ballls work well for Baja too, but only in the front.
