yes i know all of you that have been there remember it that loamy dirt those long rolling corners that ski jump those massively tall tabletops and last but most certainly not least that 120 foot finish line jump plus it was open 7 days a week for practice thats where most of us got our start at (me included) and some even quit shortly after it closed but unfortunately all good things must come to an end and it closed in i beleive 2003??? yes it was 2003 because i quit riding when it closed and started riding again 2 years later in 2005 but anyways to the point i would really like to see this track up and running again i know its still there because i drove up there today (OCT/30/2009) now im sure its not in the greatest shape due to 6 years of just sitting there getting eroded by the rain and other weather but ive tracked down the owner (Roy Roysdon's) phone number and am seriously considering about calling him and seeing if he would be interested in reopening it or selling it now im not exactly "loaded" with cash but im sure if everybody would throw in a little bit of money it would be easy to get the track now i know this sounds like a sketchy deal but im not looking into this for the money im looking into it as someone who has a deep love for the sport and think we the southern moto community owe it to our selves to fix this place up! i mean it has serious potential and deserves more than to just sit there and rot and im sure you can agree with me on this and as good at that dirt was back in day im sure we could have it pretty decent by just putting some dirt in the low spots where the track has eroded and refacing the jumps till it and throw down some water it would be decent im sure! Justin Bush already told me he'll bring out his dozer and do anything he can to help Chad Crain said he'll help now i know somewhere i can get a water truck pretty cheap but i dont want to do it if noone else agrees with me because this isnt going to work without the help of the mx family so just comment and let me know your opinions and ill try to make a decision as to where to go after reading some of the opinions

You will also need a soil erosion plan, insurance, and more equipment than just a dozer. Look into a disc and chisel plow along with a good tractor. To help in the ease of maintanence and dust control find a local saw mill and get as much saw dust and wood chips as possible. Also check with your local tree companies and power companies for wood chips. Wood chips hold water very well and are easily groomed. Soil conservation also likes to see them because it prevents the dirt from washing away.
Good luck and I hope everything works out.

Jamestownhopeful, rode there many times myself back when i had a quad. Really enjoyed it. I even stopped at the home by the track to ask if they had any plans of having a track again ( at that time they didn't). I don't know who owns they land but the guy who kept the track running (Rick?) used to work at the bike shop with Justin's dad. If you don't have any luck with that you might try talking to the people that own No Mans Land out in the Banner community it could be nice if someone put enough time into it and I think health issues kept the owners from maintaining it. Keep us posted on what you find out. Zeke
