Hi all,

Another 2 stroke question please.

I'm going to be replacing the reeds - currently they appear to be Boyesen reeds in the stock cage. I've noticed that there are several product types available for the 03 KX125:

POWER REEDS
SUPER STOCK carbon REEDS
SUPER STOCK fiber REEDS
PRO SERIES REEDS

I've also noticed that some have 2 flaps, some have 3 - what are the advantages, if any, of the different configurations.

Thanks!

The best option if you plan to stay with the stock cage is Boyseen Pro Series. I've used power reeds, super stock, ect....and none of them as good as the Pro Series reeds on my 03 kx250. Now for about $140 you can get the Moto Tassanari VForce reed cage with reed petals and in my opinion (as well as the opinion of many pros) that's the best reed valve system there is. Of course do your own research and decide for yourself. Hope this helps!!!

Thanks - will start my research with your suggestion and get the Pro Series reeds - :)

I'm wondering tho ... what is the advantage/disadvantage to the three flaps (Super Stock, Power Reeds) as opposed to the double flap of the Pro Series?

Thanks again!
