Hey guys, bit of a tech question for yas....

i ride an 09 TE310 and love it, cannot find a way to fault it(except for the dicky heat sheild on the exhaust and the fact that my keys cut straight thru the speedo cable but all good, fixed!!)

I was wondering, my bike is currently my daily commuter seeing as im working on my 4x4, im sick of wasting all that perfect dirt tred on the road and would like some motard wheels for my bike....

Looking in the "Husqvarna Special Parts" booklet provided with my bike i see the TC/TE -> SMR4T kit..... included in this is....

- Triple Clamp
- L/H Fork w/ brake caliper brake hose and new brake assembly
- Front Disc(pretty sure its front anyway)
- 2x Motad Rims(one front one rear i guess haha)

Knowing husqvarna and knowing they will be genuine parts im expecting this to cost in excess of 1500(aus$$)

Is there a cheaper way around this, does any company make a "universal motard rim"?? and whats with the new triple clamps and fork and cliper ect, will this be needed??....

Im aware the speedo will need adjusting due to the smaller front tyre but i will compensate with 65km/h - 15km/h = 50km/h ect.....im used to this cause my car has 35in tyres and origanlly came with 31in....

I am planning on dropping a few teeth on the rear sprocket to make crusing speeds of 80-90km/h a little less high revving on the engine.

Can all this be done without "genuine parts" if so how......and will my usual oil (Motul 3100 15W50) still be up to the task or should i go a thicker or thinner weight oil??

Any help would be appricated

(oh i might add, motards will be swaped for muddies most weekends so will be good if i dont have to change left hand fork ect every time i want to hit the trails)

Cheers
Pete

Not sure about the aftermarket but check out supermotojunkie.com and ebay for a set of take offs. I think you want to stay with 2008 and up. Some of the older hubs have a different off set on the rear sprocket. It is a shame as there was a guy selling some take off SMR 450 wheels for $800.00 U.S. which were in excellent shape. There is a adapter for the front brake system out there as well, I am thinking GP cycles who ran the supermoto team here in the U.S. had something. That way you can run the larger rotor for the SM wheels. Also on SM junkie there should be someone on there who knows what after market wheels will work.
