It looks like the Federal Way Yamaha dealer (South Seattle Sports Plaza) is calling it quits. Big "Clearance" sign, almost no inventory (not enough for outside display), and a "For Lease" sign.

Thanks
That explains why the inventory disappeared so fast; there one day and gone the next. I thought maybe it was owned by Yamaha, the bank, or was sold to other dealers.
Happy ending!!

From what I understand, with Fed Yami clsoing its' doors, Hinshaws will carry now the Yamaha line.

Its not a good time to be a motorsports dealer. Floor taffic is way down, banks are still not lending money and the Queen is stealling our ORV funds and shuting places down. Its very ugly the worst I have seen in the 30 years in this industry.

The queen needs to be stopped,before washington turns into the next detroit. It might be fitting though for all the greeners and thier body stench...

I stopped by South Seattle Sports Plaza to see if they had a fuel filter and they were loading up two trucks for Oregon. Hardly anything left inside, folks were cleaning up the last of the parts inventory for shipment.
So I went down the road to Hinshaw's for the filter and saw they had rearranged the display floor and had some Yamahas on display.

Speaking of our dealers, we'll be publicizing this in other ways but you all need to know that our state dealer association, WSMDA, has stepped up BIG TIME to help with our WOHVA/NMA legal fund ... to the tune of $5000!
:banana::banana::banana:
Great support in a time when sales are way off ... please thank them whenever you get the chance ...

Remember that next time you buy your parts on-line from a internet based company. Support the local dealers who are trying to support you. Is saving 10% really worth it?

The last two posts are a bit off subject but I'll comment anyway.
I like my local motorcycle dealers just like I like car dealers, some really do understand that customer relations go past the date of sale.
Back in the early seventies when motorcycle land use was a hot issue I asked the the owners of two dealership if they thought the loss of riding areas would have an impact on their sales and if the were planning to petition the legislature along with the riding community. I got the wrong answer from both. I hope the dealers have become more politically active since then, if so they need to do more PR.
The $5k contributed is very commendable and will go a long way to help fund this law suit. A lot of clubs have stated they contributed $1000. Those of us on the forum who have posted our contributions have stated the contribution was twice the tab cost, that works out to about $50 per vehicle. I suspect Washington dealers sold 5000 bikes and quads last year so that works out to $1 per vehicle.
