Guys,
I need to do some tuning on my (new to me) KDX this weekend. I'm going to pick up some jets before hand so I'm ready. Does anyone know what pilot this bike came with stock?
Thanks,
Winkel

if its the same as the 200, and i think it is, it would be a 48pj, 160mj, anyone know for sure? have a look in the kdx jetting sticky before you go buy parts

I believe it's a 42 based on the bulk of the info I've found so far. I'm going to try a 45 this weekend since I can only reduce the off idle bog with the A/S about 1/2 turn out. Also, it takes three or four kicks to get it started unlike my son's bike which is stock and starts on the first kick. Mine has the pro circuit T2 pipe.

I'm going to pull the carb and reed cage this weekend. I don't suspect anything wrong with the reeds since the bike has such low hours on it, but I'm going to check them just to verify and kind of set a baseline.

Thanks guys. I got my 45 in the mail today. It still stumbles off idle until it's good and warm with the air screw less than one turn out. It also takes a few more kicks to start than my son's.
I'll let you know how it turns out tomorrow.
Thanks,

I opened the carb tonight and have a 40 pilot and a 140 main. I thought it seemed a little lean off idle. The air adjustment screw really didn't seem to make any difference. I've ordered a 142 main, a 42 pilot and a 45 pilot. The reeds looked like new and I'm running a Pro Circuit Platinum II pipe.
The larger pilot should cure my stumble off idle.
Based on what I've read, I may need to go up on the main too.
Thanks,
Winkel

Just noticed that both of us are 44, live in illinois, and are Engineers...If you tell me your son is 13 and rides a KDX 200, now that would be pretty freeky.

No, he's 15 and rides a KDX 220. PM me at gwinkel@yahoo.com and we can hook up and ride some time. We're in Nashville (southern) Illinois and my son is pretty much a novice. I would classify myself as intermediate. We need to get out IF if ever stops raining. Where are you?
Thanks,
Winkel
