i just installed a 440 kit on my 01 400ex and obviously it doesent run too well.
so basically im looking for what you guys have your carbs set at just for a starting point...jet size where your clip is and air fuel mixture would be great.
i know the idea is i need to play with it but like i said i just need a starting point to work from being that i think the jetting was off even before i put the kit on.
i live/ride at about 2500ft elevation. thanks for the input.

What are your symptoms? Poppin on decel? Hard starting?Bogging? Low power? The stock jetting should be a very good starting point.

it starts and runs fine until you give it some more gas and it doesent want to even touch the top end it just cuts out almost like a rev limiter. it currently has a 170 and a 42 for jetting, thanks.

does it rev thru the rpms untill it gets up there or is it cutting out way before that.it almost sounds like valve timing or maybe valve clearence.the stock jetting is a good starting point.usually when you go to a BB you need to go a little leaner on the main(but not by much)
