The other one seems to be primarily ATV-based, but lets not split hairs. Here's my car:

some of the usual, some are unusual...

when the winds are right,
I spend more time on two wheels, than I do on all 3 !!!
Posted Image

two wheels on my larger sailer, (I'm doing about 50mph in this shot)
Posted Image

my wife doing about 35mph, swinging by our camp...
Posted Image

my wife on her quad, (it was a surprise birthday present)...
Posted Image

She's ready for the stadium, (you pro circut guys better watch out!)...
Posted Image

My desert play thing, constantly adding more mods.....
Posted Image

Here it is in Utility/Trail/Hunting mode, with rear rack, bag and tank bag...
Posted Image

Here's our rig that we haul all the desert toys in....
Posted Image

Camp set-up at El Mirage Dry Lake...
Posted Image

but when the desert is too hot, then we head for the water,
This is a 38 year old Larson Trihull that I revived from the grave this past summer...
Posted Image

Dang !, I didn't think it would do a "Wheelie", LOL!..
Posted Image

that's it for now, maybe some more to come later...

Man, I want to go to El Mirage soooo bad. Have you ever been there during the races? I want to see a roadster doing 200mph on a dry lake so bad I can taste it!

Yeah- check the 09 SCTA schedule.
It is cool cruising through the staging area checking out all the stuff!
Hope the lake gets some rain this year and the MORONS stay off it.
It seems to be getting torn up.

Hi Zookeeper,
Yeah, we do go to El Mirage occaisionally when the time trial races are there. it's alot of fun, and those folks are great to camp around.

Their "pits / staging area's", are always open to everyone, and it's a blast to walk around shooting pics of some pretty wild looking rides. Some of the cars are now breaking 300mph.

The organization that does the land speed racing is called S.T.C.A., here's a link to their homepage and racing schedule...

enjoy !

Neat links. I've been into hot rods for years and been to the Sears Point Goodguys drags a few times, and always wanted to make it to El Mirage, but never have. The streamliners and modern stuff is neat, but I've always leaned more towards the traditional highboy roadsters. Plus I'd like to go to get a chance to meet some of my heroes, like Al Teague. Maybe next year.
