Hi everyone, I have a 85 ody FL350, it was sitting down in a garage for almost 10 years with out moving and service.
A friend of mine gave it to me, so I am trying to restore it and upgrading it.
I got the motor runing, put in a KNN filter, aluminum cylinder gas tank.
The motor is running, the rear wheels turn foward and backwards.
But the problem that I have right now it that the steering wheel is stuck and it doesnt turn to any direction.
Also the brakes doesnt work.
I lift the odyssey with a jack and put it into gear and accelerate and hit the brakes and nothing stops the rotationg of the tires.
By the way when the motor is in idle possition and i try to put in a gear FWD or REV it makes a strange noise, I dont know if that it is normal.
So could anyone please help me out figure how to fix up these issues.
Regards,
Erick.

Is there any oil in the gear box hence the noise when putting it in FWD or RVS? It also sounds like the steering stem is rusted inside the tube. Where in CA are you located?

hi, well I also think that the insiede of the steering wheels shaft is rust, any ideas of how to get off the rust?
For the gears, I havent check the oil, i'll ask my friend who is helping me maybe He did. Where is the trasmition fluid dip stick located?
I live in Chula Vista CA. But I have the FL350 in Tijuana Mexico.

To get the steering stem out you have to disconnect it from the bottom and top. Meaning remove the ty-rods on the bottom and at the mount near the steering wheel. The remove the steering wheel and the shaft will pull out from the bottom if it's not stuck. As far as checking the oil I have no idea it's been 20 years since I've seen an odessey. If you can get it over the border and bring it to Temecula I can help you out.

sitting for 10 years it needs some parts or reuild the ones you got, replace engine oil and brake fluid and see if the brakes will work. prolly needs some lube on the steering shaft. Take some time and tear some stuff apart and service it cuz if you dont it will run for a while and prolly leave you stranded somewhere. GL love the odysee and pilots
