I am kinda afraid to tear into the carbs on this atv but i think i narrowed down my problem to the slide not opening at WOT.  when i open the throttle the slide doesnt move a single inch.  if i manually move the slide a little my throttle revs to where it should be....my slide moves freely with my finger pushing it up and down.  but why wont it move when i apply throttle ???????????????????????????????????:bonk:

Not trying to insult your intelligence or minimize your knowledge, but:

Don't know if you understand how CV carburetors work or not; if not, there's PLENTY of great instructional material on the web . . .

"Vacuum," or pressure differential, raises the slide on CV carburetors . . . the throttle only controls an air butterfly admitting air to the intake venturi . . . the slide will not rise unless the engine is running, air is flowing through the carubretor, and a "vacuum" (pressure differential) exists above the diaphragm . . .

If you have an air leak in your diaphragm (e.g., tear or puncture), or if you do not have the diaphragm sealed EXACTLY in its groove at the top of the carburetor, the slide will not rise properly, the needle and main jet will not be uncovered as the throttle opens, and . . . running will be miserable.
