Where do you live in the St. Louis area. I moved from Chesterfied to Phoenix last year. Lot more places to ride out here nearby - desert, mountains, dunes, etc. If you are 40+ and have lived in St. Louis for a long time, do you remember the old Cycle World track in St. Peters. They held a number of Trans Am's and Nationals there in the '70's. What a cool track with lots of terrain changes, raced there many times. Do you remember the Sheckel brothers, fast boys! Buy the way, I bought my '98 YZ400F from a guy in St. Louis earlier this year and had it shipped out here. My neighbor liked my bike so much he just bought one too. Good luck with your search...

Havent been to Kahoka yet but I really want to get down there. Do they only have the national harescramble down there. Or can a guy ride down there for fun!!

Yea I have my money down on the 2001 yz250F and have been assured I will get one. I guess we will see how a 215lb 250 four stroke handles.

Unfortunatley, I did not grow up here, moved here from SCal 2 years ago. I ride with several local +40 guys who grew up here and talk about the old "St. Charles" track & The Trans AMA that was run here. Enjoy the Desert & the $ stroke!!

You can ride on Saturday before the races on the track, I heard he was going to open it up this year to open practice. THey are having a 4 Stroke National there this year, should be a great race. I'd look you up if you were looking to get rid of the bike before Fall, My 98 250 was Super Clean & I'm dissappointed at the 400/426 I've looked at so far. I have gotten a real good price on a new 426 & may go that route. Time will tell here in a month

Unfortunatley I wont be looking to get rid of my bike until this riding season is over. I can tell you that I rode a 426 for the first time a few weeks ago. WOW was I impressed. The difference that those 26 CC's made was astonishing. The bottom end was very very strong and the bike felt wicked fast compared to my 99 400. However it may be to much bike for the tight woods. It had a heck of a lot of pop and jump to it and I could see it getting a person in trouble. I know I dont need anymore power, but in an open area or on the track I wouldnt think twice.... I would take the 426!!

I have a friend who lives near South Bend, IN who has a 426 for sale. He has always ridden 2 strokes and figured he would try the 426 but can't seem to get used to it. This bike is very clean and has very little time on it. He needs to get $4800 out of it. E-mail me at Thumper448@Hotmail.com if you are interested. It is about a 6 hour drive from St. Louis. Maybe you could meet half way or something.
