Now that's funny Scotty.

My Prediction which team will OA the 1000?

KTM teams are just too new, so, i'm going with Red, Red, Red or Green - I predict a battle, bar banging, anger, resentment, dirty tricks, cheating, accusations, protests, penalties..

I'm just bummed I don't get to see any of it.

Rumor- 309x will have a very unique "look" and be trying his best to win class 30. :ride:

It's the most exciting bike race in any Baja 1000 ever.

Too bad you didn't indicate who was being PAID to race within a class. Compared to those that truly love racing in Baja. There's quite a difference. The former will be back.

For Class 22, good luck and skill for all teams.

We should make sure we're not wearing the same dress to the prom.

This team of FIVE will try its best not to let a solo racer beat them :worthy:

Can you shed some light on the paid situation. JCR riders are probably paid. Kawasaki guys getting paid?? I know the 2x is a privet team. There is alot for Honda to loose and a lot to be gained by a Kawasaki or KTM over all. I am always cheering for a unsponsored underdog to run away with it.

There's a difference between guys (like a few of the JCR guys, not all) who get paid to race because that's what they do for a living and guys who are hired to race a race or few races by a rider of record so that rider of record can win and not have to ride much (or at all). There are quite a few in that second category, some deep pockets, and too many "teams" consisting of 6+ riders (i didn't say 5+ for Justins sake).
Really, something needs to be done to change this. Bombard SCORE with faxes/emails/letters that the bike classes (they have too many per vehicle in car classes too) need an overhaul and revamping!!!
It's out of control!! This year would be a good time for class mods because it's kinda a messed-up year with points.

Totally agree BBM! What is the point of Class 21 now? I might just not understand what it is now? Would a KTM 530 fit in the rules of Class 21 also? Also, why don't they just make one 2-stroke only class? Or heck, why not a vintage class? ...what's the beef with the Sportsman classes?

there are only a few under bikes in the under class, it is almost all 450's.

how pissed would you be if you were on an under bike and got 5th in class, behind 4 450's! I would be livid!!

I agree with BBM, eliminate Class 21 and enforce the SPTS Man Classes.

Any team using more than 2 riders in any SCORE event should have to enter the Sportsman class.

Just my 2 cents....I'm sure I'll get some change...

Totally agree with BBM on classess.

How bout something like this:

Class 20: 0-300cc (Any stroke)

Class 21: Any stroke bike between 301 to 450cc, with age restriction up to 21years old (kinda like a jr. class for up and comers etc.)

Class 22: Same

Age classes: Same.

Sportsman:

Small bore Sportsman, 0-300cc (any stroke)

Mid bore Sportsman, 301-to 450cc (Any stroke)

Big Bore Sportsman, 451cc plus (Any stroke), for the XR650 and KTM 530 guys.

Rider limits:

Pro, SF250 (3), 500 (4), 1000 (5).

Sportsman: Maybe no more than 4 on a team per race, there are lots of sandbaggers in Sportsman.

And please, can someone make a dedicated Ironman class, or 2. Maybe Ironan Expert and Sportsman classes.

My 2 cents, can I get change please :banghead:

Mitch.

Oh, and reduce the entry fee, so it is easier on the wallets of smaller teams. But you would think, smaller teams = more teams, which = same, if not mo money for pescadito

JCR 1 and 2. I agree they should limit class 22 to 2 riders but not until after the 1000.
