I am going to rebuild the forks and shock on my 06 YZ450F and was wondering if some one could go on a parts micofiche and tell me the numbers for the parts I need. I tried to do it but all those parts are really confusing. Thanks.

Call Dave Johnson at Smart Performance and use his parts and oil. You'll be much happier.

http://www.yamaha-mo...parts/home.aspx has a pretty simple online fiche for your 06.

Just click forks and rear shock, among others.

There are no rear shock internal components listed by Yamaha, so forget that.

As far as the forks go, a simple fluid change would only involve two each of the bushings ( 5XE-23171-L0-00 and 5XE-23125-L0-00 ), two oil seals (1C3-23145-M0-00), and two dust seals (5XE-23144-L0-00). You may run into other problems, like a broken free piston ( http://www.thumperta...ad.php?t=650136 ), or you may want to replace the cartridge seals, which are not serviced by Yamaha.

The advice to give Dave Johnson a call is good advice. He carries most everything you'll want in stock, and his fork seals don't leak. Find his URL in my sig.

Thanks man, I just called him and he gave me a price that will be worth it if his seals are as good as you say.
