I added a second kit of discs I recieved from a vendor. Whatever supertrapp has for disc kits is the added amount from stock. Sorry the bike is in storage for winter. The passenger pegs came with the bike--don't know, but they aren't custom fab's. This bike has been plated for many years so it has some oddball discontinued parts.

Stock number of discs supplied with Supertrapps is 12. And that's more than enough for a stock 600. Even the racers only use 18 max. Once the area of the discs exceeds the area of the silencer core there's no gain except sound levels.

Supposedly the Baja 600s were in the 55hp range. If that's even true, it would be 55hp at the crank which is comparable to a truly uncorked 650R. I figure the RFVC gearbox sucks up about 13%, so roughly 48rwhp.
On that note, here is a cool clip from Terrafirma III of Johnny Campbell on an XR600 at Baja:
Just mute the sound. I swear every other YouTube video uses that track and 9/10 times it doesn't suit the subject matter.

I don't really ride that bike anymore. That is my "loaner". I did play with the motor setup on that 89'. I got two disc kits and a "snuff-r-not" to play with on that bike from a distributer. The snuff-r-not was just a exhaust cutout to bypass the disc system for straight through when off-road. I must have liked the double disc sound better in the end. It is still spark legal that way I guess.
It's funny, that bike is actually pretty powerful for what it is. My L is about equal with all the mods on that setup. As for the R's, they are much different. The Baja R just seems to pull with no flat spots till the end. Of course the CR is a different animal altogether teaching me whose boss frequently. The semi stock R is just a bulletproof never fail bike.
I am recovering from an accident on labor day. I seperated my shoulder worse than I ever did before. Looks like I might need some surgery:bonk:. I also might have to sit out some snowmobile time also:banghead::bonk:
Just goes to show, An L is not going to be my choice ride for big off-road stuff as I said to myself when I bought it---to heavy.
