I am considering a new pistion and wondered if I would need a new cam with a 10.25-10.5 pistion? Has anyone had a custom pistion made in the 9.5 range?

the XR600 piston gives you about that comp ratio your wanting, the pin height is like 1mm difference and thats how it raises the comp ratio, its lower and raises top of piston. Doing that to a 650L right now i sold to a guy at work. will be all stock but that, nothing wrong with doing it but obviously you will get more out of a cam but its not needed, should be a slight boost over stock piston
