I got the large one, but after only one ride the fabric has torn through and the zipper broke:bonk:

Does anyone have a good experience or suggestion of another manufacturer? It has to be durable as I like to pound through Baja months at a time.:ride:

Have you thought about contacting XRs only and letting them know? Did it fail within a warranty period or reasonable amount of time? How long have you had your bag? What type of gear do you store in the bag?

I'll let them know, but it has been sitting quietly in my garage for almost a year so any warranty will be purely of good nature on their part. Regardless - if it's this flimsy then I'm not taking a chance on having my tools scattered about the trail, and it shouldn't matter how it's packed and with what.

They have many good solid products - I'm just not recommending the tool bag.

ive had two now and there holding up ok for me, would call them and maybe email apic, tell em its hardly used, not that youve had it for a year sitting but how long its been on the bike. OEM are super tough for sure!! if you want a rock solid one then watch ebay for one, there pricey but last long

FYI new bags are right about $60 and the plate that goes inside for support is $10

I had the small bag with very basic tools for the small rides when I don't have my camel back. All my tools were straped in except for 3 spark plugs. 1st ride and all my stuff was scattered all over the trail. Didn't use all my weight to strap the tools in but they were not loose. Guess I should've called XR's only but I was just too pissed and threw the bag in the dumpster.:bonk:

I used Moose fender bags for years, bought a new one last year, noticed they started using a different (thinner) material. Lasted 2 months before the seam stitching started falling apart.
So, no more spending 30 bucks on fender bags. Went to Target, bought a 7 dollar "toiletry bag", cut a piece of plastic to fit in the bottom, bolted it on, voila. So far, lasted a year, still looks new.

I was in a KTM shop last week and saw a nice HEAVY DUTY fender bag for 14.99! YA that price AND at KTM shop!It was a bit small and it did say KTM on it...i guess one could paint over it?
I think you can get it on-line through KTM hard parts and assesories.

Pics of the bag. You may notice how clean it is, and nope - never washed it. It hadn't even seen any trail time yet.

First the seam ripped...

...and then the zipper busted.

Some great suggestions here so I'll post when I decide/get my new bag:thumbsup: .

I'm doing the same, but it is with an $11 toiletry bag from WalMart. I replace it ever year or two if it needs it or not. The one I'm running is about two or three times the size as this one, and I can carry just about any tool I could possibly need. Mine works with the stock plastic piece and mounts exactly the same way.

Give Dan a call, he's a rider himself and his stuff is literally bulletproof. I have 3 of his fender bags and a number plate bag, it has all been flogged mercilessly and still looks and works great.

I use this one (Moose), really like it. Lots of space to slide tools into, keeps everything real tight with the straps, not bad for $30.

I was going to order one last week but found....he closes his business down for a month?
