If you ever wanted to race the Baja 1000,now might be your chance. We have a brand new professionally prepped bike, experienced support crew, and a well prepared team. We are looking for someone out there in thumper land to join our team. We will start pre running 2 weeks before the race and will cover expenses for the right person. We are not a tour or arrive and race company. We are a private team looking to finish well. We will respond to everyone who replies with a resume and references to us either on messages or here if you have questions. Please only respond if you are serious, tough , dedicated to doing well, fit and most importantly FAST. If this is not for you , but you know someone who is interested, Please let them know too.:ride:

Type bike?
Experience of others on bike?
Names of others on bike?
What does it pay?

Did you see my PM, sometimes new people to this board miss them. Let me know.

My suggestion would be equally solid in 30

Let me know if you need someone for the pavement sections? SNR once told me I have incredible throttle control, I think it was a compliment. He also told me I could time my laps with a sun dial, that I'm not sure about.

Hey Co guys, buy into that vision of granduer and go for it. Those that win believe they can from the start. Good luck!

With all the penalties for course deviation and speeding anybody can beat Honda now. Just ask the Bansay boys and the Beta team.
Finaly somebody is seen the potetial that Dave has....:ride:

I don't know who this TylerDurden guy is, but, dang if he doesn't nail it most of the time.
And btw, Tyler, that team you spoke of was 8th in class, 25th OA bike, barely held off the top Ironman, and got beat by a BMW.

Yes, I would answer these questions, even if vaguely.
I'd at least say "we're riding a Honda prepped by Precision Concepts" (true, so it's a good ride for sure), "we're using X brand pits", "the riders have (or not) raced in Baja and have (or not) won their class x times".
It does make a difference.
You don't have to tell all, but what if you went thru the resume effort to get on the team then found out they are racing a pile of crap bike?
Also, there are plenty of people out there who "looking to finish well" means to simply reach the Finish line.
There are also plenty of people who before the race have a goal of reaching the Finish, but fail, and still say the adventure was totally worth it, that it was a sucess.
Some who may be interested in this ride might not be interested in simply reaching the finish. Some consider anything better than top 6 (or 10 or whatever) OverAll to be the goal, anything less, no interest.

You are the man :worthy: and I look forward to seeing you soon :awww:

I'll be in SF for B1K helping a no chance 30 team, if they'll have me, so salute:thumbsup: when you go by.

Hasta,

Since Dave is off the short list and previously sold out to the Jims and you haven't bought into a top 3 class 30 team with less than 6 weeks to go...Do you think "you're" ready???

We've seen this same scenario unfold in previous years: buying into to the granddaddy of em all with visions of grandeur.
'06 1K: Some guys from northern LA drop 20K and then hire some "GURU" to make it jibe. These guys (2x) finished like 6th or 8th overall class (right, who cares?) at great expense, I mean they ruined a perfectly good booby trap. If you think fast is good, call Childress directly.

CO boys finish the race, at best, if they're even on a HONDA or KAWI. Expectations of a podium are hallucinogenic.
Wow! I am from Colorado and I have finished on the podium in Baja! Maybe you should find out who you are talking about before you say make uneducated comments. I don't necessarily know them but I do know there are a lot of great riders in co.

Part of my team is from Colorado. You guys should meet up, hug and share war stories about your encounters with chupacabras and fairytale podium finishes.

I've stood atop the proverbial Baja podium before. Your deal sure sounds a lot better than the crackpot ride I got stuck with. PM sent.
