[IMG][/IMG]I just removed the Teraflex 110/100 that came on my used R. I never knew if it was made in China or the U.S. Turns out the "Made in China" label is on the bead so you can't see it when the tire is mounted. I don't know about the U.S. version. Contrary to popular opinion, I thought the tire was pretty good on and off road. Just replaced it with a Pirelli XCMH 140. The bike sits quite a bit higher now. We'll see how it feels.

That new tire looks like the "un-popular" 606 but with taller knobs. It looks like it might work well. Be sure to do a follow up report....thanks

I asked about the smaller 110 Terraflex tires and I got a bunch of negative responses. Don't think I got a single positive. The skinny tires are completely different than the "normal" wide Terraflex tires. The US made wide tires were liked, but you had to deal with the huge heavyweight nature of it. The Chinese wide version was also liked, but not to the same degree.

the XCMH not even close to the 606...the knobs are spaced much wider and the compound is much softer...i've got ~500 offroad miles on mine and i'd say it's at 2/3's tread depth w/ rounded knobs...it works pretty gud in sand, roots and light mud.

i don't believe the XCHM will hold up to many slab miles :smirk:

below is a new XCMH shown next to a worn 606...

The XCMH front and rear are very good- almost as much traction as T-flex except in really nuts mud, but it's not going to last nearly as long as a T-flex.

It does have much better manners than a T-flex. Even the big 140 is a 'normal' tire.

yeah...if we cud ever get a pic of the elusive XCMH front! :bonk:

although i don't know if it has DOT approval...the Scorpion XCMS which shud be a harder compound (than the XCMH) may even be a better choice for longevity...

...the IRC MB5 looks really gud too! ...but not DOT.

the T-flex just skeers me! :smirk:

Pretty much all pirelli fronts are DOT, but sadly not all rears. The XCMS rear is not DOT.

Hmmmm. I like the pattern of that front.(XCMS) I had a michlin "enduro comp III" on front & never realized how good it was untill I tried others after it. Now I'm bummed cause I think it is discontinued. But all the new Huskies came stock from factory with them on front. Exclusive contract? or did they buy up all old stock, to unload?
