Are you kidding me? -.- FI is a pain? really? You are the first person to say that FI is a problem. I hope you're trolling

I'm not the only one who complains about it. http://wr250rforum.f...eral-discussion
Basically the problem is there is a point at low throttle opening where its sort of on/off. Its darn near impossible to ride it around at just off idle. Let off a tiny bit and its like the motor died or throttle cable broke, twist it a tiny bit and it jumps forward like you dropped the clutch. The only way around it is to pretend the throttle starts at about 1/4 and use the clutch when you need less. A lot of fuel injected bikes do it. On the street its only a problem in parking lots or creeping slow traffic. If you arent paying attention it will make you look like a noob with no control over their bike. My KX500 has mountains more torque and will pop a wheelie just off idle but is infinitely smoother at low rpms as long as you can control your wrist.

I know exactly what you mean and that little on/off hesitation drove me crazy when I first got my WR250R.

Adding the pipe and programmer sure helped a lot with the hesitation though and really smoothed out the throttle response, I might also have just gotten used to it. I admit though it is still not a smooth as the DRZ400E or my old DR350S (with pumper carb) but I am willing to give that up for a bike that starts right up 100% of the time and never has to be jetted which is nice here because I live at an elevation of about 500 feet but often take trips up to over 6000 feet. I can adjust my fuel at the touch of a button and never even have to think about what size jet to use or where to clip the needle.

Taking my M1 test was interesting though and yes I did end up feathering the clutch a little to work through the cones.
I would have rode the DR350S I had at the time but didn't want to worry about kick starting her during the test.

My riding buddy cut me a deal on this bike(I think so I would ride street with him too-lol). For some strange reason he couldn't sell this bike. Its an 89 fj1200 with 38k on it. After market beefy brakes and new braided lines as well as Hines full exhaust. Runs like new. Am loving this bike. Holy hell its fast. Smooth and fun! Picked it up for $1700. I plan on getting some bar risers, heated grips, maybe a used corbin seat and some kind of luggage rack. From what I am seeing these bikes are easily going over 100k miles. Talk about cheap way to get into street! Not even I could pass this up.

2005 Z1000 with a slew of mods. Owned it since 2,000 miles and it now has over 23,000. I have literally rode this thing from coast to coast and from mexico to Canada. One ride was over 9,000 miles and 28 days straight. This bike was also stolen from me and recovered on that really long coast to coast ride. I have yet to do a track day on it but I really want to. Here you go.

My 1994 Gilera GFR 125 at a track day at Cadwell Park. I do ride it on the street but the bars and footrests are getting a bit uncomfortable for my arthritic hips! It's 30 BHP and the bike behind didn't catch me :)

what tires were you using on your 9000mile journey?
did you have to replace the rear on the trip?

My '02 cbr954rr I bought it in january with 3000 miles on it from the original owner!  Its been cold as heck since Ive owned it but on the handful of warm and not so warm days I rode it so far I absolutely love it.  Very very nice riding bike.  It feels brand new still I paid 4k for it I think I did pretty well considering the mileage and really not a mark anywhere on it!
