E FCR Idle/decel problem

Hi all, yup, still battling it out with this E FCR. The hanging idle problem i had is all but gone. How? i have no idea, but i can live with it.
The thing which is driving me crazy is getting the idle speed correct. If i set a normal idle speed, on decel from high rpm i have loads of engine breaking until the rpm gets low, then i have none and the motor actually almost drives itself along. Very annoying in stop start traffic.
If i set the idle really low the problem is gone but it stalls all the time. When riding tight trails in first gear i have very nearly dropped the bike several times due to it stalling.
Is this normal for an FCR? What i need is a way to raise the rpm WITHOUT raising the slide and needle which seems to have the "still got the throttle open" effect.
Any suggestions guys?

What needle are you running? Try opening it up in half turn increments until the symptoms subside.
Keep in mind I have no info on your set up...

Its a completely stock E fcr.
165 main
45 pilot
60 pilot air
CE removed
Taffy mod done
DXP clip 5

Clip position has made no difference, fuel screw has made no difference slide is not hanging. Hits the throttle stop all the time every time. Reacts perfectly to the idle screw with every adjustment. CE installed or removed makes no difference, bigger pilot, no difference. I just dont know what the issue is?

this is probably alot of the issue.its so rich you have run the slide pretty high to stay running.

But with the CE removed by joining the two nipples together, dont i leave the stock 60 pilot air in? I must admit, it does seem rich on idle, but if i lean the fuel screw, it doesnt pull so good off idle.

if you have the nipples connected,ok.thats fine.

you set the fuel screw for best idle.trying to tune anything that happens off idle with the fuel screw will just have you going in circles.

OK, best idle is at 2 turns out but has 1/4 throttle surging. Pulls best at 2.5 turns. Clip 5 seems best. Should i go back to 2 turns out and buy an EMN needle?

OK, thanks for sticking with me on this. Its always apreciated. The carb is too good to give up on and also the performance increase is worth this fine tuning. Even though the 1 small problem is sooooooo annoying :) I will order the needle on monday. Report back near the end of the week. Thanks again
