Want to get an aftermarket seat for my 650L. After a couple of hours my butt is killing me. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, was going to get a larger gas tank, probaby Acerbis. I have heard that some add on seats wouldn't work with some add on tanks.

I bought a tall, soft foam kit from GUTS Racing:http://www.gutsracing.com/ and then shaved the roundness off to make a flat section with a step at the back.. Freeze the foam and use a large bread knife, then an orbital sander to shape. I like the flat top instead of the curve to spread the cheeks, so to speak.

I have a Baja Designs cover, but the guts gripper is cool and will be my next choice.

There is always the AWESOME Renazco:http://renazco.com/

Or the new player that I have seen:http://www.xpcracing.com/

Good luck and let us know what you get!

I made my own gel seat to make it more comfortable and to lower the seat height.

I bought a 5/8" Akton Polymer gel pad, which can be cut and trimmed to size, then carved out a lot of foam with an electric carving knife. Reattached the cover with a pneumatic stapler.

Much more comfortable and I now sit at least an inch lower...

Although I have a GUTS seat cover, I still have the original foam, which is too soft for me. Is the soft foam kit harder or softer than stock?

I was planning to get both a foam kit and new seat cover from GUTS Racing next time I wear the seat out. Currently, I only need to ride the bike for about an hour for the seat to start bothering me. It normally takes six to eight hours on my other bike to reach that point.

Corbin makes a very comfortable and wide seat. Width = comfort IMO.
