My 2003 DRZ S has sat in the garage for the last 2 years unloved

decided to use it again and it started second kick on the aftermarket kickstart i added a few years ago

ordered a new battery in the meantime put it back to road trim from its greenlane set up

started fine on the battery and ran it around for a couple of days hoping to clear the jets fully with use and injector cleaner

but never really cleared so decided to strip the carb down, using an air compressor and carb cleaner (has a dynojet kit on it with the airbox mod)

the diaphragm looked fine

put it back together

and now it wont start, am at a loss, striped it down and rechecked

has the kickstart switch removed, has spark at plug

any ideas anyone

I'll bet your pilot jet was nearly clogged before. The solvents disodged some gunk still there and now it is completely blocked. Buy a new pilot jet.

Silly question but did you remember to hook up the vacuum line to the petcock?

Try a fresh plug...and never put additives in your fuel again.

Do you have the jets in the correct places?

had a new plug in , stripped it down again and recleaned every passage within the carb , ie idle, choke and main circuits, took atomiser out, inspected diaphragm, put the old 25 pilot in, reassembled, used some intake cleaner as an easy start and it fired up fine

fires up first prod on the button now, guess some small blockage in the idle circuits as it exited the throttle body

thanks all for the assistance

tomorrow the MCCT modification, presume where the oil breathers exit into the trap before moving onto the airbox, these can be disposed off if i route directly into the airbox

glad to hear she's running right now....not sure what u are asking about the breather and mcct install, but the breather box has to be removed to put the mcct on.

You don't have to remove it completely, just unbolt it and push it aside.

No gain from doing this, and those that have end up with oil everywhere. Just leave it alone.

If you like the idea of pumping oil into your airbox....I guess you could do it.
I sure would not recommend it.

walls and a return line to the cylinder.. I would'nt route it to the airbox. take the oil box off to install the MCCT or move it out of the way then when the MCCT is installed put it back in place. I should fit.

An element to collect the mist and return it to liquid form, a chamber to collect it and return line to send it back into the motor. Only the pressure is relieved into the airbox.
