Procom aftermarket cdi Bad?

So I have the procom aftermarket cdi from ebay and it has improved the response on my s, but I have noticed more engine noise especially when I downshift, Does any one know if this is more harsh on my engine? and or why its making more noise?

Thanks, now that I put the stock cdi back on it runs waaay better
