A little bird mentioned the high likelyhood of at least one Class 22 KTM 530 Pro Team running the 1000. It will likely have many of the upcoming stars of BITD.

Quite possibly even an A & B team effort with Blais Racing prepped bikes out of R&S KTM.

They will join the fully capable Blais Racing prepped KTM teams of Over 50 Team of Charlie Marshall and Over 40 Team of Brian Campbell.

don't let your orange bike blind you. Don't they know the desert will be green in November. AAAAHHHH so long as it is not red it can only add to the fun .right?

Interesting, I recall not that long ago that people were saying the same thing about green after such a long Kawi streak.

It will make a realy interesting race, who cares who wins. You could probably find a year later that after the penalties for speeding and short cuts the Beta team won again:smirk:

So it appears the Team is developing as follows and it will be a 2009 Blais built Team R&S KTM 530 XC-W bike with WR-1 Suspension components. ...a few other components/sponsors TBD as well.

Robert Underwood
Ricky Brabec
Adam Thissen
Cody Wallis

:worthy:

...and a few TBD riders.

If Max and Matt Eddy aren't on a team they would be a huge asset. They have done a great job for the DA squad in the last couple years.

Just a little update on what will most likely be the ROR - Robert Underwood.

Robert pulled off a 4th OA in the National Hare & Hound this weekend! Heard it went something like R. Pearson, Abbott, Kamo, then R. Underwood! (of course Blais Racing Morgan Crawford came across in 5th)

Just wait until Underwood gets a few more of these things under his belt! :worthy:

Sounds like the Team has a pretty solid ROR to me!

Hey guys, since the schedule of events is not yet published would you think since the dates of the 1000 are 11-19 to 11-22-09, and since the race finish limit should be around 28 hours, would the events be tech inspec and contingency on Thursday 11-19, race start Friday 11-20, race Friday and Saturday, with awards ceremony Sunday morn. exiting Baja thereafter? Will the Class 22 team have factory support or is it private effort??? I know KTM can when this thing if they can just focus on it. Now that SCORE won't let Honda cheat it's a more level playing field.

Yeah we are just privateer (can't afford to hire any ringers), but these kids sure are fast! Obviously (or not) in Baja it's not just about speed. So we are getting (them) some good Baja experience this year to (hopefully) make a serious run at the series next year!

Blais has been kind enough to help share his knowledge with us and will be (already is) building the 2009 KTM 530 for us.

We decided to entry under Adam Thissen, since Robert might have an AMA district race conflict, not quite sure yet... :bonk:

...any truth to the rumor that Class 21 or Class 30 will actually be the first bikes off the line at this years 1000?

Good luck, I'm sure you guys will represent Orange well!! I have ridden a KTM in the last 2 Baja 1k's (Sportsman) and have not had a single bike issue. I will be riding with a new team on a Honda this year in Class 40. It's a free ride for me and I'm excited but I will miss my KTM. If you guys pull off the win KTM riders around the world will go crazy and you will never have to pay for a beer in Mexico again :)
