Hello,

I am going on vacation with some friends in a couple weeks to cabo. I was thinking of taking a day to ride with a tour company. Can anyone suggest a reputable company in cabo san lucas. I looked on the internet and found two companies. Just looking for some input from other people who might of done a tour and had a good experience. I am a single track woods racer. Never done desert riding. I not looking to go crazy. Just a good day of riding with some nice views.

Thanks

Thanks for the feedback. I think this guy might be a little to hardcore for me. I looked up his site and he does more three to five day trips than just local rides in cabo. I am going to shoot him an email to verify my hunch, but I just want to get up, ride and go home the same day in cabo.

Thanks

Maybe so, he is pretty damn intimidating. Have you seen him in a muscle T? Wow!:worthy:

But really, done right, a moto-rental/mini-tour thing set up in Cabo could be a home run.
A few have tried and as far as I can tell they've all failed. I do not think there are any currently operating down there. I would love to go roosting around the area with you Woodsridr, but it's along way away from where we're based.
Sure you've got all the lame Quad day-rides. But a real 450cc dirt bike based operation with single and multi-day rides, enduro style or 2 track, could work well.

Here's a suggestion for some good times while you're down there Woodsridr....
Cabo Karting - A freekin' blast (especially when you have a dozen moto-heads and you get to put Henge into the wall :smirk: ). Just a few minutes East of Cabo proper, easy Taxi deal.
Wide Open Experience - It's a day driving real off-road race buggies (not lame China ones) at a private track outside Cabo. www.wideopenbaja.com Not cheap but more than likely something you can't really do anyplace else unless you're really connected and it's a total ball. Your entire group can drive or ride along. Fun for everyone. They also have a kiosk deal set up in the center of the Cabo tourist area, just look for the race buggy display.
And a fellow dirt-biker buddy of many of us in the US who lives in Cabo, Sunny Irvine, might be able to hook you up with a fun day ride too. He has a successfull non-moto tourist related business, but if time allows he might take you for a spin. He's one of the fastest racers in Baja Sur, has finished Dakar, and knows the area really well so you're sure to have a fun time. sunny@rallyraidmex.com

Holy cow! I wasn't expecting to get a response from the Baja bound moto owners. THANK YOU, for taking the time to write me an email and giving me some alternative suggestion.

I am sure that your tours are top notch. And if time aloud me to take a couple of days to ride, I would do it. But I am going on vacation with my wife and another married couple. She wouldn't be to happy if I ditched her and went riding all week. She gives me a good amount of race weekends at home. I don;t want to sleep on the balcony!

I will look up these other sites that you provided. They all sound like a good time. I would love to ride with Sunny for a day I will drop him an email to check if he has any availability when I am down there.

I have only been racing for two years. But most of the riders I have met are all really good people and all seem to know each other for some reason. I was wondering if you know Jeff Ferdette. He is a district 17 rider and 28 time ISDE finisher. Great rider, super fast, and nice guy! Jeff and another buddy, Ryan Moss, are always battling at the enduros for first place. I would say they are fun to ride with but they lose me in two turns!

Muchas gracias,
woodsridr

Well I just saw this BAD A$$ doing push ups in the Pine Forest and it was gnarly for sure.

I have a picture but it is just too tough to post anything here for me and my small brain from SC

On another note woodsridr...go on vacation and when the wife is all happy tell her you are doing a three day bajabound trip and we can all watch the gnar gnar boss do inverted push ups
