Once in a while when I am riding I seem to hit a false neutral in between 2nd and 3rd. Is this cause enough to split the cases? Everything else in the drivetrain works flawlessly and I don't have any metal shavings in the oil or chunks on my magnetic drain plug.

Lazy foot, lazy clutch hand, lever mounted too high....

Could be wear, but if it holds in gear, it isn't too bad.
