how does the Yz400f compare to the 426f?

i just recently found out that the 426 a guy sold me is actually a mad but whatever, anyways, how does the power and speed compare between the two?

well each year the bikes got better. The 426 has a larger engine, better radiators, updated carb, updated suspension. Still way behind vs a 450.

easiest way to tell a 400 vs 426 is the carb and the lower radiator shroud mounting bolts. The 400 is directly from the side, the 426 from behind.

Just to make it easy, you can always check the 10th digit of the vin to decode the year to. But that is too easy

pretty much everything.
