So the two possibilities I've heard so far go something like this...

1) Exactly the same as 2008 course - last year (99% anyhow)

2) Very similair to the 2005 course - (90% anyhow)

Other course rumors?

From a good source.....

SF loop is part of course again (like '08) but it will go to Matomi and back up Old Puertocitos Rd....that's just for you Baja 1000 bike guys that dodge the San Felipe Whoops each year.....

This is not a joke from the DA, I feel you can take this info to the bank...pretty sure I would avoid the Matomi entrance cut you 8 or so bike teams that used it

I don't think '05 course is in play since no one seems to be scouting the area on the Pacific south of Colonet

 (to be fair, that silly TT of yours is responsible for those whoops)

I know I hit my head hard in the '05 B1k, I don't remember most of it, but I'm pretty sure it didn't go South (coastal) of typical Santa Marta to ocean route.

:banghead: :snore:  <--me in '05 b1k

So, it sounds like the San Felipe Loop (from 2005)! Wonder which direction they'll run it?

...and which direction would be smoother! Does it really matter though?

That reminds me! Nothing like looking over to the left and seeing someone a mile (or miles) off course on a smooth road while your pounding some Sand - Felipe! :foul:

...or finding out (after the fact) that there was a sweet 'alt' entrance to Matomi cutting out a few fun miles of whoops!!! :bonk:

How 'bad' do you think the course will get this year (from pre-running etc) especially if everyone is running down the middle (or at least closer to it)? :ride:

They will not run Matomi uphill from what I have been told after asking for years. People getting stuck going "up river" in the narrows probably the reason.

Sorry no Pacific in 05, copy

For the record.....bikes hate the whoops, especially those that ride like they pee.....my TT skims the tops of the whoops at 90mph, it does not make them....the limited cars make the whoops, starts out as a ripple of cavitation when they accelerate out of slow downs and grows from there.

Ask Morto, The TT doesn't touch anything bot the top of the whoops

And how! Those things are probably roosting dirt off the tops and filling the bottoms of the whoops!

This should be a great Baja 1000 Course (just dreaming idea):

ensenada-valle de guadalupe- ojos negros- loop around pine forest- el mano pass(cordillera de molina)-laguna salada going northbound towards 08' B1K Course-Borrego-San Felipe Loop-San Matias Pass-Mikes-Coyote-San Telmo-Simpson-Valle T-Goat trail- Km77-Tres Hermanos-Ojos-Ensenada. BRUTAL. oh Well lets wait till SCORE releases the map.

So nobody really knows, but, from the leaks and speculation does it look like a technical rough course or on the wide open side? Do you guys think that it will get significantly rougher with people actually sticking to the course? Silt, sand, gemme something!!
