Ok...quick question...I don't seem to have a "rubber gasket" behind my stock head pipe...has anyone else encountered this? The only thing there is a steel...ribbed ring...does anyone else have this?

I was under the impression that it was a rubber gasket?:excuseme:

Should I just reuse it? Maybe add some gasket sealant....I'd take some pics if I could find my damn camera...any help is appreciated.

Haha....hey Deb! You know....standing next to it blippin the throttle...its' mega loud...but I just went for a short spin around the block and up and down the street...and it doesn't really sound to bad.:excuseme: which is a good thing....

Put the 160 MJ in and turned the screw out another 1/4 turn and the poppin is gone.:ride:

Quick question for anyone....after install....did anyone have residual smoke coming from the muffler after stop? After I killed it..it's was simmering...white smoke from the can....

How does one remove the exhaust gasket from the engine? Gently pry it out with a screwdriver?

I see signs around the area of an exhaust leak from the piece of crap that was installed on the bike before I got it, so I am probably going to install a new gasket when I install my new...MRD/SSW EXHAUST!!!  :ride:

What year is your bike? Mine just kinda fell out but it is an 08. a little lite damage but not bad enough to effect performance. I reused and it works like a charm. if it look alright leave it in, if it is stuck to the header pipe use a razor blade. Also you can get a new one for about $10 OEM. I got one after install in case I ever need to change exhaust or remove it again?   :smirk: nope the sound puts Harley's to shame. Just wait till your next to one a stop light, now who's loud? :p

It took a little encouragement with a screwdriver and the gasket was out. It just looks like part of the exhaust port. I decided that I might as well spend $12 on a new gasket to my $470 exhaust.

The MRD/SSW exhaust installation went easily today.

I have had a Yoshi TRC titanium full system and a FMF full titanium system on previous DRZs and this exhaust is nicer. Welds, fit and finish are EXCELLENT.

As far as the noise level, it's loud, but doesn't strike me as any louder than the TRC without the quiet insert.

This exhaust is an excellent value and I love the fact that it's American-made by a small business.
