Wonder how many spare motors he plans to take?
I would think 5 complete spares and enough parts to rebuild it 10 times would probably do the trick.

I guess you can't do a lot of sitting on your ass with that bike.

Interesting read. Pretty cool that they can do that to a 450X. However, seems like an awfully heavy bike just for 450cc and that exhaust looks to be subject to damage.
I don't agree with a limit to 450cc either, come on now, we've all likely been fascinated at one time or another watching speed channel's Paris to Dakar coverage with those huge KTMs and BMWs with monster motors throwing a huge roost across the dez at 100mph+.
Perhaps South America's terrain doesn't warrant the need for such big bikes, they will be missed in my book.

Another thing. How is honda going to get a set of valves to last 6000 miles. We know they can do it for 1000. Im not sure of the specific rules and rebuilds but im glad jcr is going after the euros.
