A friend of mine had one of these back in high school. Was a pretty good bike to wheelie on, and we got to stand in the village one day and watch him outrun the cops with it!! :ride: One trip down the main st. then 1 trip back with the cop in hot pursuit both ways - then he hit the trails at the end of town for a clean gettaway! Gotta love dual-sports:thumbsup:

dual sport means plate. You saying he was chased by the cops that long and they never got his plate????

This was in high school. Alot of us had bikes of some sort before we were 16 (and had licenses). No plate on his bike, although I had just got my license at the time.:ride:

BTW, my friend's DR370 was orange.

My brother bought a 78 DR370 brand new, got it plated and damn did we have fun on that bike! It would top out at about 85-90 mph and had lot of low end torque, be in third gear and come to a steep hill hit the throttle and tractor right up.. The fenders were plastic and metal tank.

I used to ride with a guy what had a 78 or 79 DR370. I rode an RM465 at the time. Good times....
The SP was the "trail" version. the DR was the dual sport.
