YZ Kickstand

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know where I can get a kickstand for my YZ400? I am not interested in the kind that attaches to the swingarm. Has anyone adapted a WR kickstand to a YZ? The WR appears to have some threaded fittings welded to the frame that the WR kickstand mounts to. The YZ does not seem to carry the provisions to mount the WR kickstand. I have a friend who is a welder, so if I can get the WR threaded fittings I can have them welded onto my frame no problem. I just don't want to mess with fabricating the fittings. Any help would be appreciated.

I have what you seek..... ?

It wasn't cheap! There is a guy down in LA that has fab'd up a part that duplicates the frame fitting for the kick stand. He sells it as a kit with the fitting, nuts, bolts and a stock WR kickstand for $150. Like I said not cheap but it works PERFECT. It bolts on at the subframe and the lower chain roller. Takes ten minutes to install or remove. I put it on when I'm going to do a bunch of trail riding and off for MX.

The guys name is Mark Blackmon @ Two Dad's racing, the phone is 818-782-4600.

Thanks Chris. I spoke with the Two Dads guys a month ago. Sounds like a good product but your right, a little pricey! If I don't get any other responses I'll probably go with their setup. Question: Is the stand design strong enough to put weight on it (I.E. sit and/or start the bike with it on the stand)?

Thanks!

Keep your eyes peeled on our trusty friend, Mr. E-Bay for a Pro Moto Billet Kick Stand. I picked up mine for half the price of a new one.

I got mine lightly used, bolted her up and am now the envy of all of my woods riding buddies.

It has never come out of it's Up position on even the biggest jumps, and I trust it.

The PMB is bullet proof, has an internal spring so grass and mud isn't ever an issue, and I feel is even sturdier than the WR Kick Stand, a factory stand no doubt.

I have one very similar to what you describe. I got minw thru Bajadesigns. It is all wr parts and an aluminum bracket that mounts to the subframe bolt. It works great. I dont think they sell the kit anymore due to the increasing costs of the Yamaha parts. but it worwks great.
