Hey, Anybody think a DRZsm with Distanzias and a big tank can handle the Barstow to Vegas? Word is you have to have a plated bike, so that rules out my 450r. Also have a V-strom1000 Uber Pig but that might be suicide.
I've heard there's three routes to choose from with varying difficulty.
Anybody done this? I'll probably start in Barstow. Thanks GURUs:bonk:

It can do it, but I'd much rather use dirt wheels and tires for that ride.

Sounds like a slow way to do it but if you've done it on dirt machines before might be interesting to say you've done it on an SM..As long as you're not in a hurry...

Last time I did it was 1987,, it's a bit different now I understand,...:foul:

Like the 24hr GP in Oregon I miss so much.. I'll do both again when I'm done playing army.,,, even if I have to ride them in a off road wheel chair...:busted:
I’d bet you could make the ride on a SM,, but at what cost…. Your going to ding, dent and scratch your nice street bike all up.
If you had a Kicker or S converted to SM with just some wheels, lights and a plate, that would be different.
Go to the D37 forum and read, search and then ask,,,, http://www.district3...display.php?f=5

It will be a cakewalk.

My friends over at Motorsport Scooters ran a couple of "vintage" Vespas(10" wheels, mind you) there, a couple of years back. They made it with no problem.
