An eline carbon fiber skid plate came with the used DRZ I bought.
I tried to install it using the hardware that came with it, but had no luck.
It is a crappy design, and I really don't know what they were thinking when they designed this product. It would have been so much easier to make it so you can just bolt it up to the existing OEM skid plate bolt holes.
It comes with these funky hooks that are a nightmare to use.
Now I know why the previous owner didn't install this skid plate before he sold the bike.....because it's almost impossible to install.

For those looking for a CF skid plate, I don't recommend the eline.
If anyone else has an eline can you please let me know if there is a trick to installing this slid plate.

I used to have one. You need to attach the front clips to the frame loosely with electrical tape. You can then fish the bolts through the CF holes and get the bolts started into the clips. Do the rear bolt(s) last. Do not tighten anything completely until you have started every bolt. It actually fits great once you get it on, but yeah it's a PITA, especially until you get the technique down. It's easier the 2nd time you do it, and the 3rd, and so on, just like most things. Go drink a beer or two and try again.

Sounds like Palhaco's got it covered.

I'm not familiar with the E-Line skid plate, but maybe if you were ambitious about changing the mounting design of it, you could line it all up and drill holes in the plate so you could just mount it up normally without use of the brackets?

Yes ive got the same one , yes i agree on the design a bit fiddly to fit , one thing that helps thou put in the capscrew at the rear first and screw in the claps and move them out with a thin screw driver when in.

Do yourself a favor and go get longer hardware, just be careful it's not too long as to contact any engine bits when screwed all the way in.
