It's Here...the 2010 YZ450F

Recommended Posts

Skip the goodies until you know what goodies aren't to be skiped. Get what you need when there is some good R&D on suspension and exhaust.

I agree...This is a bike that needs to be ridden stock for a while, if nothing else just to appreciate the mods you do down the line...

Although, one point is that you can't then sell the stock stuff as "brand spanking new"...But it'll be a long time before anyone needs any of those parts!

My buddy just called from the Yamaha shop and said he just got the 2010 in. Said he is getting it together for me out of the crate.

i told him I would be down to help him in a few. I will have to wait til monday before i can pick it up cause i will have to work this friday and saturday and i have a race sunday. its raining to bad today here to fool with getting it today but come monday i will be sporting the new 2010 YZ450F.

Good part is.........is it is Blue and OTD is $7100.00 :bonk: :bonk:?

Bad news fellas!......:bonk: The 2010 that came in............well.... iit was a 250f :bonk: . I asked him "i thought it was going to be the 450f" and he said that was what he had put in for but they obviously arent going to release the 450f just yet.

i asked him when he was going to get one and he said " at this point I just dont know" I figured something like this would happen, cause i'm in good shape of getting a new bike right now having the money and all.

i dont see what the big problem is right now! all the other manufacters have released their 450's and cant see why yamaha is dragging their feet on this one.

He put in again for the 450 and "Who knows" maybe it get here sometime.

Holy crap that sucks. What a huge dissapointment. Talk about having the wind suck our of you sails when you got the news, at the dealership too, right?

Well, the stock unit doesn't look so bad on this one, really. But you can be certain that if Doug Dubach built a pipe for the bike, it did something to improve the system performance over stock.

My point was, the stock system is pretty good, and you can mess around with the powerband all you want with the Power Tuner. An aftermarket exhaust system wouldn't make you much faster on the track and is not as versatile as the Power Tuner.

I understood your point. Mine still stands as I stated it.

If a well designed aftermarket exhaust will not make you faster, then the same can be said of using the power tuner.

The possibility that the DRD exhaust might very well improve the breadth of the power curve, as it did on the '06 and '07 models, and thereby work in concert with the power tuner to produce an even better result must be given consideration what with the track record Dubach has. He has worked closely and directly with Yamaha for a good many years, and does not produce his basic exhaust systems for bling.
