It's Here...the 2010 YZ450F

It looks like you'll have to take the tank and seat off to clean the air filter,:busted:

dont think so. look at the pictures on motocross action mag. rad. plastics are two piece and the filter looks like a flat filter it proable slides in and out like in most cars. not sure if that is a good think since the port is downward and dust and dirt...

any one take notice and see the bike gained 7 lbs? i guess the longer exhaust and fuel pump add most of it

A very nice FI system that monitors its self. Thats what iwas hoping for. Unlike the half ass open loop KX, RM, CR 450's

Yamaha states: "Yamaha FI provides optimal air/fuel mixtures in all altitudes and wide range of temperatures for outstanding throttle response."

One could extrapolate this to mean that it's a more sophisticated closed loop, but I don't see an oxygen sensor. More likely just temperature and barometric sensors that bear on the fuel map.

That pipe is probably responsible for some of it. But that's another thing: no more stupid, half thought-out "baffle cone" exhaust! :busted:

I wonder what the pipe builders think of this?

Also, with regard to the earlier comment on the effects of the exhaust heat, note that the semi-circular mid pipe section is completely shielded. I don't see a problem.

Not sure but if you look at the cut away pic on page 1 of the tread, there is a small hole in the header. There doesn`t seem to be anything in it so I could be wrong but that could be the o2 sensor hole.

It`s seems to have all the tools to kick some butt. Hope it does as in almost every sport from MotoGP to Superbike to MX. It looks like it`s a great time to be a Yamaha fan :busted:

very interested in the performance but Im bummed that its so fugly. That frame is hideous. It would have been nice if they applied the looks of the yzf250 to the 450
In the first place, I don't see how you can call it ugly, but that's me. But let me point out again, lots of ugly stuff is very effective; Glock pistols, the M249 SAW, the F-117, Irish Wolfhounds.....

If you want bling, I'd suggest building a chopper. Politely, of course. :busted:
