Congress is about ready to start holding hearings on the CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008). This is the legislation that banned ANY amount of lead in ATVs & motorcycles that were intended for use by children. Enforcement was postponed by the Consumer Product Safety Commission until Congress could decide on the matter. Well, now they're getting ready to decide. Rep. Denny Rehberg has introduced H.R. 1587 that will exempt ATVs & motorcycles from the CPSIA.

The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) has info on their website on how you can contact your representative and urge them to support this bill.

Let's try to make sure we get this passed so we don't have to go through that hell all over again! I urge you to send this info to all your riding buddies and post this info on any other motorcycle forums you visit.
